Jeff Wickman, Retirement Administrator
Jeff joined MCERA as Retirement Administrator in August 2010. As Administrator, he works closely with the Retirement Board on administrative, financial and investment matters, and is responsible for translating Board policy into action. Prior to coming to MCERA, Jeff was Assistant Director of Policy and Strategic Initiatives for the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems. He has served on the Board of Directors of the California Association of Public Retirement Systems (CALAPRS) since 2013. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Central Washington University and is a graduate of the University of Washington’s Evans School of Public Affairs Career Executive Management Program.
Anya Bakerink, Assistant Retirement Administrator
Anya was appointed as Assistant Retirement Administrator in May 2023. As the Assistant Administrator, Anya oversees the benefits operations with a focus on creating more efficient processes, enhancing customer service levels and improving member and employer education. Prior to her role as Assistant Administrator, Anya served as MCERA’s Chief Financial Officer. Before joining MCERA, Anya worked as the Tax Division Manager for the County of Marin. Anya earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from San Francisco State University, graduating summa cum laude. She earned her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license after she started her career at Burr Pilger Mayer providing audit services to publicly traded firms, private companies, benefit plans and not-for-profit organizations.
